What we believe:

 
1. We believe in one God, eternally existent as God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
 
2. We believe that the Bible, composed of the Old and New Testaments, is God’s inspired and infallible Word, and is the supreme standard and final authority for all conduct, faith, and doctrine.
 

3. We believe in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.

4. We believe that man was created in the image of God, but by willful transgression became sinful and is justly under the condemnation and wrath of Almighty God.

5. We believe that the only salvation from this guilt and condemnation is through faith in the righteousness and atonement of the Lord Jesus Christ, and that this salvation is the free gift of God’s love and grace.

6. We believe in the personality of the Holy Spirit and that His ministry is to reveal Christ to men, to convict of sin, to regenerate repentant sinners and, by His presence and power, to sanctify the lives of the redeemed.

7. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ instituted the ordinances of baptism and communion; that baptism is only to be administered upon profession of faith in Christ, by immersion, thereby declaring our faith in a crucified, buried and risen Savior; that communion is only for believers, is to be preceded by faithful self-examination, and is in remembrance of the Lord’s death until He comes.

8. We believe that Jesus Christ died for the sins of the world and that on the third day He rose again proving His authority of all things including death.

9. We believe that, as He has promised, Jesus Christ will return to earth to judge all mankind.

Originally founded as Bellerose Baptist Church, in 1928 a group of Bible-believing residents brought into being in Bellerose, New York, a Baptist Church, conceived in prayer and dedicated to sharing God’s Good News. Their message was: All people everywhere need to repent and to receive His Son, Jesus Christ, as personal Savior, for the forgiveness of sin and for fullness of joy.
 
To implement their conviction they began with cottage prayer meetings every Wednesday night, then neighborhood canvasses and Sunday services, including a Sunday Bible School. After awhile, they hired a part-time pastor and rented stores for meetings. By God’s guidance and the sacrificial efforts of their people, the Bellerose Baptist Church was incorporated in 1929 and the present building was begun in 1939. Since then we have been blessed with the leadership of great pastors. To God be the Glory!
 
Confident in this faith, we continue to reach out through friendship, church services, prayer, Bible study for all ages, and youth ministries. By His grace, we have sponsored several new churches and inner-city ministries. God also gave us a vision of getting this word to “The ends of the earth” through prayer, financial support, and networking with missionaries and mission boards. From our membership young people have answered His call to foreign fields and to pastoral duties. As members, we lovingly respond in prayer and giving for those who go. 
 
The church of Jesus Christ is alive and growing. We rely on His never-failing promises in our personal lives as well as on His Assurance: “I will build my church.”
